About Us

My name is Joan Bootier and I own Peachy Pets Pet Services.   In 2006 I traded in a 20+ year career in financial services, including five years working in London, in order to start my pet care business.

 

When I lived in the United Kingdom, I provided training for financial advisors and their support staff.  Some of them worked from home where they had pets and a few even brought their dogs to their office.  I found myself so distracted by the pets!  They brightened my day immediately and I just wanted to play with them.  The idea for a career change had been simmering for a while and these pets helped point the way.

 

Although it was time for me to leave the corporate environment behind, I am grateful for the opportunities I had to develop good organizational skills and sound business practices.  Living and working abroad was a fantastic experience but I am glad to be home.  I now get to spend my days with so many loveable pets.

 

I have two indoor cats, Flirt and Marble.  They are truly cosmopolitan kitties and made the trans-Atlantic journey to London and back with me.  Flirt was a stray when she came to me.  She is now fat and sassy and naturally, a shameless flirt.  Marble is slinky and agile with beautiful marbled markings.  I adopted her from the Humane Society of Pinellas.

 

I also take care of a feral cat that showed up in my back yard.  I call him Kittles.  I feed him every morning...and he hisses at me every morning.  I borrowed a humane trap from SPOT, caught him, had him neutered and released him back into my yard.  Oooh, was he mad at me.  He stayed away for almost two weeks, but now he is a fixture and often lounges under my window while I work at my desk.
